This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, during a presentation ceremony of the report “Hate crimes and incitement of hatred against Azerbaijanis”, as reported by Trend.

“I would like to note that on January 23rd of this year, the Azerbaijani side announced and submitted to the International Court its main claim based on thousands of pages of evidence related to the nearly thirty-year illegal military occupation by Armenia of internationally recognized sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, the expulsion of ethnic Azerbaijanis from their historic lands, the commission of genocides, and other crimes against humanity.

Considering the nature of the examination of inter-state complaints in international courts, this lawsuit will be examined in the coming years.

I would like to emphasize that these crimes against the Azerbaijani people are not merely illegal actions carried out in random, chaotic circumstances, but are based on ethnic hatred and the radical nationalist ideological line of “Tseghakronism”, widely propagated in Armenia for decades. Our interstate claim specifically points to this.

The ideology of Armenia is in complete contradiction to the approach of the Azerbaijani government, which promotes equal rights for ethnic Armenians, the coexistence of the two nations, and consistently calls for peace,” said E. Mammadov.
