Armenia’s NSS Arrests Group ‘Plotting to Usurp Power’

Armenia’s National Security Service reported that it revealed a group of eight people that ‘plotted to usurp power’ in Armenia by using weapons.

Eight of the members of the patriotic NGO called Crusaders have been arrested based on circumstantial evidence the National Security Service said it found by searching their homes and the office of the NGO.

Among other things, the NSS found during the search firearms, weapons, ammunition, pneumatic pistols, body armor, telecommunication devices, computers, notebooks containing various notes, documents.

Albert Bazeyan, former Yerevan Mayor and former MP, is also among the arrested.

The NSS also said investigation is underway to find out the full circumstances, the entire range of persons involved in the criminal group.
